Changes Include More Vendors, More Choices, and Weekly Live Performances

PEEKSKILL, NY: The Peekskill Farmers’ Market, operating every Saturday beginning June 7, has been energized with new management, new vendors and now, weekly live entertainment through the new “Market Stage Live” series. Downtown Peekskill is emerging as an exciting restaurant and shopping destination. Your Saturday is worth it!

Opening Day of the market on June 7 will be a huge celebration, commencing with a ribbon cutting ceremony with local political leaders at 9:00 a.m. To inaugurate the new “Market Stage Live” performances, One World Youth Choir (an NECS program) will perform at 9:30 a.m., and the amazing Daisy Jopling will play classical rock violin at 10:00 a.m. Hometown favorites Sailing Stone will entertain until Noon. Vendors will be contributing their best items for a giant gift basket as part of a free raffle for market visitors. Winner must be present so be there for the drawing at noon!

There will be at least twenty independent small business owners represented at the market, more than double the number of vendors from previous years. Each one specializing in a wide variety of produce (including an organic option), artisanal cheeses, imported spices, olive oils, maple syrup, baked goods, freshly cut flowers and more. There will also be farm raised, hormone and antibiotic free protein including poultry, pork, chicken, eggs and grass fed beef. In addition to performances by local musicians, “Market Stage Live,” will feature lessons from top chefs in local restaurants, authors reading from their work, activities for children, and demonstrations from fitness and health practitioners. Follow the schedule of live performances on our new website,

The City of Peekskill, in association with the Peekskill BID, confirmed that the Market will take place every Saturday on Bank Street (between Park and Main Streets) in the same location as past years. “We are proud of our 22 year market history,” said Jason Angell, Executive Director of the Peekskill BID, “and we are excited to offer everyone who comes to downtown Peekskill the best in food and entertainment. We have great shops and restaurants, and now, with the addition of Market Stage Live every Saturday, this is certainly the most fun farmers’ market in the area.”
